Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro and our guide will be waiting for you to transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day we spend at our discretion. Maybe someone will want to quickly see and feel the lush life of the city and someone wants to be alone, then there is always a corner somewhere between palm trees, sand, and ocean waves to go to.
Planted between lush, forest-covered mountains and breathtaking beaches, the Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City) has many charms, most notably the Cariocas, its exuberant residents.
Discover the many beaches that are free entertainment zones. Watch people chatting, jogging, drinking, or playing football. Copacabana and Ipanema are the best beaches in the City with the famous black and white tiled promenade. Beautiful panoramic views can be enjoyed from the famous Cristo Redentor statue. The Sugar Loaf's cable car ride up to Sugarloaf also offers a spectacular panorama of Rio’s bays and beaches. In the evening you can dance the night away, with Samba and Forro, in a crazy Lapa.
Day 2 – Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast at the hotel. Our guide picks you up at your hotel in the morning and takes you to the bottom of Corcovado Mountain. Here you board the little train that takes you through tropical rainforests, passing tropical trees and exotic fruits. A short walk from the final station you find yourself at the foot of the impressive Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). Enjoy the spectacular views over Rio de Janeiro.
After Cristo Redentor, our guide will take you to the red beach (Praia Vermelha) from where we take a cable car up to the Urca mountain. From here an amazing view of Rio opens up before us. We take yet another cable car up the Pao de Acucar Mountain (Sugarloaf). From here we have a wonderful view of the city nestling between the mountains and the sea, and the sight of the sun going down over Copacabana beach is magical. After riding down the cable car, we will discover the historical part of Rio.
Day 3 – Rio de Janeiro
Breakfast at the hotel. A morning or afternoon tour from Rio to the Tijuca Rain Forest, in an open jeep. The four-hour jeep tour includes an easy one-hour hike, giving you the chance to spot monkeys, birds, butterflies, and tropical flora. You'll be amazed by the remarkable contrast of a tropical rainforest right in the middle of a big city. At the Tijuca Rain Forest, you'll take an eco trek lasting approximately one hour, following an easy trail. There's no better way to experience the living rainforest.
You'll have many spectacular photo opportunities on this rainforest jeep tour from Rio de Janeiro. On your tour, you'll pass the Cachoeira dos Primates (monkey's waterfall), take photos at Vista Chinesa (Chinese view), hear about the important reforestation program, and learn the importance of the Mata Atlantica (Atlantic Forest) ecosystem. The tour also takes you past the Mesa do Imperador (Emperor's table), Cascatinha (Taunay's waterfall), and Capela Mayrink (Mayrink Chapel).
Day 4 – Rio de Janeiro to Foz de Iguazu
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for a flight to Iguassu. Meet and transfer to your hotel. The Iguacu Falls receive their name from the Caigangues Indian word meaning 'great waters'.
The falls are formed by the Iguacu River and consist of 275 separate falls; they are surrounded by the virgin jungle of Iguacu National Park which is home to about 2000 species of flora and 400 bird species (including parrots and toucans). The highest fall, the 'Garganta do Diabo' (Devil's Throat) reaches 70m (230ft), which is one and a half times the height of Niagara Falls.
Day 5 – Foz de Iguazu
After breakfast, you will visit the Brazilian side of the magnificent Iguaçu Falls following the walkways which border the canyon of the Iguassu River. It is possible to observe hundreds of small waterfalls until ending up in front of the magnificent Devil's Throat, the strongest and mightiest of all falls. The splashes coming from the falling water make you FEEL the grandeur of the falls and cover the sky with thousands of rainbows.
Discover different types of rare birds in Foz do Iguassu Bird Park! You are driven to the entrance of the bird park where you meet your guide. Now you have the opportunity to meet Tucans and Aras during a walk through the amazing ambiance of the bird park. Maybe a cute butterfly catches your eye when making your way.
The big adventure begins at the Macuco Safari entrance gates, located at kilometer 25 of the Cataratas Highway inside the Iguassu National Park, with embarkation in open jeep-towed wagons that permit an unobstructed view of the scenery along the trail. During the stretch of three kilometers through the jungle, multi-lingual guides point out examples of the flora and fauna of the Park.
Orchids, palm trees, bromeliads, centenarian trees, as well as wild animals that occasionally cross the trail are pointed out by the guides. The hike - The second stage, a stretch of 600 meters (optional), is a hike on a trail that leads to a waterfall called "Macuco Falls". The waterfall - perfect for a refreshing dip on days of intense heat - spills down from a height of approximately 20 meters. Access is via a stairway carved into the ancient rock. The last stop is the Macuco Safari docks on the Brazilian side of the Iguassu River. In the water, inflatable bi-motor boats, constructed to withstand the rigors of the excursion, are secure and efficient vessels.
Before embarkation, passengers receive life vests and plastic containers in which to protect photographic and filming equipment. The boat travels upriver passing the canyon facing the rapids at a speed that permits the appreciation of the scenery, but will also give you the adrenaline and fun. Rocks, animals, and a lot of greenery complete the scenery until the base of the Falls is reached, next to the "great horseshoe" known as the "Devil's Throat". Waterfall shower - Rainbows, blue sky, mist, and water in profusion, punctuate the spectacle that has as its high-point the area of the Falls baptized "The Three Musketeers". There the captain maneuvers the boat in order to get close enough to provide the passengers with a quick and refreshing shower.
Since at the end of the fun everyone normally ends up wet, the passengers more sensitive to cold should not dispense with extra clothes to use after the boat excursion. Another important detail: wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
Day 6 – Foz de Iguazu to Manaus
