Manguinhos Beach lies to the southwest of the resort town of Armação dos Búzios, commonly known as simply Búzios, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The town is famous for its more than 20 beaches, which were once a retreat for pirates and slave traders, but today attract tourists from all over the world. Manguinhos Beach is especially known for windsurfing. In downtown Búzios one can enjoy good nightlife and taste the delicious local cuisine.

Búzios has located 170 km to the east of Rio de Janeiro and 29 km from Cabo Frio. The town has its own airport.

Explore More About Buzios:

Armação dos Búzios (or Búzios) is a Brazilian resort set on an ocean peninsula east of Rio de Janeiro. It's known as an upscale vacation destination with numerous beaches. These include Ferradura, on a calm horseshoe bay with water sports, and Geribá, a popular surfing site. Among its village streets, cobbled Rua das Pedras is a center of dining and nightlife.

Long before it was a busy beach resort, Búzios was a secret surfer-dude hangout. Professional surfers still visit regularly and four of the 20 beaches are highly ranked among international greats. Best of all is Tucuns, a long sandy bay with big waves. Then there’s adjacent Geriba, where a surf camp offers classes for all ages and levels, including absolute beginners who start off standing on their boards on the beach, getting to grips with balance.

Brazilians love their adrenaline sports – and this adventure park, tucked behind Amores beach, has plenty to please all ages. There’s go-karting (and mini go-karting for young ones), beach-buggy and hover-kart riding, shooting, paintball, wall-climbing, and bungee trampolining.
